Your Journey as a patient

initial contact

You can contact us via phone, sms, WhatsApp on 07909973478.

You can contact us via email on info@bellavistaclinic.co.uk

We can have a discussion about your injury and explain what we can do to help.

If you decide you would like to book an appointment  this can be done on our website or over the phone.

first clinic visit

Your first appointment with us will last for approximately one hour. We will take a comprehensive history.  This will involve asking about previous injury,  previous medical and family history, sporting history and your occupation and lifestyle.

We can then examine and test the affected area. this may involve removing some clothing. We respect our patients modesty and will only expose areas that are needed . We ask that you bring clothes that you feel comfortable wearing while being examined. For ladies a sports bra and loose fitting shorts are ideal.

If you have any concerns about this please get in touch and we can work out the best approach that respects your wishes. We are happy for you to arrange a chaperone to accompany you.

We will then give you our diagnosis and talk though our management plan of treatment and exercise. In some cases we may need to refer you on to other professionals and this will be arranged as quickly as possible.

Treatment may involve hands on techniques such as massage, mobilisation or manipulation of joints, other modalities may include dry needling, shockwave or taping. We will also use exercise and remedial movement to treat as the old saying goes 'motion is the best lotion'.

We will agree a treatment plan that which will outline how many sessions you will need and the outcome of the treatment. This might be complete improvement of a back problem or being able to return to playing golf once a week.

home based management

After your first session we will have agreed a treatment plan which may involve follow up clinical appointments.

It almost certainly will have a comprehensive set of home exercises and self care advice. This will be provided to you in an email after the first session.

Follow up clinic visits

Any follow up visits will be between 30 minutes to an hour depending on what you need. We will assess how the injury is progressing and how well you are responding to treatment. we will continue with the treatment plan and this will involve hands on treatment and exercise.

Discharge

When you have reached your treatment goals we will discharge you from our care. If things haven't gone exactly to plan we can reassess to see if a change of approach or referral is needed.

ONGOING SELF CARE AND MANAGEMENT

After you have finished  in the clinic with us. you will be provided with an after care pack that will give you all the exercises and advice that you need.

We may advise you to have regular sessions with exercise professionals such as Pilates teachers or strength and conditioning coaches. we have strong relationships with local coaches and can advise you on this.
